Getting Started
Do I need an account to use CentriFood?
Yes — an account is required to save places, create lists, and connect with friends. You can sign up with your email address directly in the app. Registration is free.
How do I save a restaurant?
There are three ways:
1. Paste a link — Copy a URL from Google Maps, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube and paste it into the search bar. CentriFood will fetch the restaurant details automatically.
2. Search by name — Tap the search icon and type the restaurant name. Select from the results.
3. Share Sheet — In any other app, tap Share and select CentriFood from the share sheet. The restaurant is added to your queue automatically.
What is "My Places"?
My Places is your default personal list. It's created automatically when you sign up and can't be deleted. Every place you save lands here first, and you can also move places into any other list you create.
How do I add friends?
Go to the Friends tab and tap Add Friend. You can search by display name or enter someone's username (their @handle). They'll receive a friend request and can accept or decline.
Lists & Sharing
How do I create a shared list?
Go to the Places tab, tap New List, give it a name and icon, then tap Invite Friends to add collaborators. Everyone on the list can add, rate, and comment on places in real time.
Can I share a list with someone who isn't my friend?
Yes. When editing a list, switch the sharing mode to Anyone with link. You can then share the list link with anyone — they'll be able to view and join the list without needing to be a friend first.
How do I recommend a restaurant to a friend?
Open a place from any of your lists, tap Recommend, choose a friend, add an optional photo and note (up to 280 characters), and send. Your friend will see it in their recommendations feed.
What is the recommendations feed?
The recommendations feed (on the Home or Friends tab) shows restaurants your friends have personally recommended to you or to the group. Each card shows who recommended it, a photo, and their note — similar to an Instagram post but just for restaurants.
Chat & Dinner Planning
How do dinner invites work?
In a chat conversation, tap the + button and select Dinner Invite. Propose a date, add a restaurant suggestion, and send. Your friend can accept or decline directly in the chat.
How do I run a restaurant poll in chat?
In a chat conversation, tap + → Poll. Add up to several restaurant options (you can attach saved places), set a time limit if you want, and send. Friends vote from the chat and the winner is highlighted when the poll closes.
Can I share a saved place directly in chat?
Yes. Open a place from any list, tap the share icon, and choose Send in Chat. Select a friend's conversation and the place card will appear inline with the address, rating, and a tap-to-open link.
Account & Privacy
How do I change my username or profile photo?
Go to the Profile tab → Edit Profile. You can update your display name, @username, and profile photo from there.
Why does CentriFood need my location?
Location is used for the Nearby feature — to show restaurants close to you on the map and in search results. It is never shared with friends or stored permanently. You can use the app without granting location access; Nearby features will be unavailable.
How do I delete my account and data?
To request account deletion, email us at

"Account Deletion Request". Include the email address associated with your account. We will delete your data within 30 days and send confirmation.
Where can I read the Privacy Policy?
Does CentriFood work on iPad?
CentriFood is designed and optimised for iPhone (iOS 17 and later). It is not currently optimised for iPad.
